TRACES OF GOD

Journey of a Faith, after the true of the American Dream

$30.00

This work is based on the real-life experiences of ten undocumented immigrants, who together crossed "Death Valley" (the Arizona desert) twice during an eighteen-day journey, risking their lives to pursue the American dream. The one that became a terrible nightmare from the moment they were interned in said desert, facing hellish and freezing temperatures, heavy rains, poisonous animals, such as rattlesnakes, coyotes, giant ants, and tarantulas, among others.
In addition, donkeys (drug and arms traffickers), hunters of immigrants (members of the Minutemen Project), the bajadores (robbers), and the same guides, in many cases. Also automated aerial vehicles, Eurocopter AS350 helicopters, and F-15 aircraft of American recognition. Not to mention that starvation, dehydration, and sunstroke due to the high and low temperatures of the desert would cause hyperthermia.
On this journey, their faith was put to the test, since days after undertaking the second crossing over the border fence, they were assaulted by a group of thugs who threatened to take their lives with machine guns, and they stole all their belongings, leaving them in the desert without water or food to survive. They clung to their faith in God, to the desire to live, and to the future, even though it was not possible to see it, as they persisted until the end.
It is an incredible story that teaches us about the power of faith and the resilience of the human spirit. It makes us aware of the true meaning and value of life, as well as the power of union and companionship. It is steeped in tragic events, yet at the same time inspiring, which removes the veil of what is often hidden by governments and the media about the reality of illegal immigration.
It is well worth analyzing and reflecting on.
